Everything You Need to Know About Lash Lift

Having long, beautiful lashes is a dream many of us share, but it cannot be easy to achieve. Lashes can be hard to maintain and require much fuss with mascara, curlers, and other products. Lash lifts are becoming a popular alternative to help people get the look they want without much effort. A lash lift is a relatively new procedure that helps enhance the natural length and curl of your eyelashes, giving a more flattering appearance. This blog post will dive into everything you need to know about lash lifts.

What is Lash Lift?

The Lash Lift is a process that enhances the natural curl of your lashes to reveal their full length. The lashes are reshaped to the desired shape using a lifting solution and tiny curling rods.

Things to Consider Before Having Your Eyelashes Lifted

Before a lash lifting appointment, it is important to consider certain factors. These may include:

  • You should remove eyelash extensions at least three to seven days before the appointment.
  • Avoid using waterproof mascara and curl your lashes 2-4 days before treatment.
  • Refrain from wearing any eye cosmetics on the day of your appointments, such as mascara, eyeshadow, or eyeliner.
  • Use an oil-free makeup remover to remove all eye makeup the day before.
  • Wash your hair before your appointment because you could not receive permission to do it for two days after treatment
  • you must sign a waiver before beginning the process.
  • You must remove contact lenses before going to Lash Lift process.

Process of Lash Lift and Tint

  1. Patch Test

It is important to conduct a patch test before using any solution to check for any allergic or adverse reactions. This test involves applying a few drops of the solution to the skin and leaving it on for a minimum of 48 hours.

  1. Preparation and Cleansing

You must thoroughly cleanse the eyelids and lashes of any makeup, oils, or residues; thus, professionals use a protein remover solution to accomplish this. They will cover the lower lid lashes afterward to avoid any perming.

  1. The Curling Rod or Shield

Shields are available in three varied sizes. The largest size is ideal for long, natural lashes that need a slight lift. The medium size is the most popular option, providing substantial lift yet still preserving the curl; it is suitable for medium to long lashes. Small size is ideal for those with shorter natural lashes or looking to achieve a highly curled effect.

The lashes are then carefully affixed upward onto the shield with the bonding gel. The more precise the positioning, the better result, as the bonding agents will secure the lashes in the exact position they have bonded.

  1. The Lifting Balm

In this step, they will apply a balm to the lashes to break up their structure. This action breaks down the disulfide bonds and reforms the shape of the lashes, which they leave to set for 10-14 minutes.

  1. The Fixing lotion

They will now repair the damaged connections using a fixing lotion, following the shield curl as a guide. You need to wait another 10 minutes before getting the curl you want.

  1. Tinting

Here the lashes are given a color boost. Many tint colors are available, including blue-black, black, dark brown, brown, and more. The lash lift and tint specialist carefully clean the lashes before mixing and applying color for a few minutes.

  1. The Nourishing Solution

This solution can help nourish and remove any traces of dye or lotions from your lashes. Utilizing a clean mascara wand to flutter the lashes can help them dry out, giving you the voluminous and tinted eyelashes you have longed for.

  1. The Fixing lotion

They will now apply a repairing lotion to re-establish the broken bonds and help form the desired curl shape. Allow an additional 10 minutes for the curl to set.

Lash Lift Aftercare

After your lift, avoid using water, steam, eye makeup, and makeup remover for 24 hours. As with any perming process, immediate exposure to moisture and humidity might ruin the results. No need to alter your makeup routine or stop cleaning your face after the 24-hour mark; treat your lashes as usual. After a lift, some experts suggest using a nourishing conditioner like coconut oil to maintain your lashes hydrated and healthy.

Bottom Line

A lash lift is an effective and long-lasting solution when considering how to accentuate your eyes. Lash lifts provide dramatic and natural results and are a great alternative to eyelash extensions or mascara. With a lash lift, your natural lashes are lifted, permed, and then tinted (or not, depending on your preference). When done correctly, lash lifts are virtually painless and can give you beautiful, full lashes without worrying about damaging your natural lashes.
